negotiate traffic on your bicycle? Well, the League of American Bicyclists has developed a course to help you answer these questions and we have a few certified instructors right here in Ventura County. Come join us in Camarillo for some illuminating information and on-bike training. Below is the course description as listed in the Camarillo Health Care District newsletter. Bicycle Education Road IDrivers Ed for BicyclistsThere are currently no classes scheduled. Sponsored by the League of American Bicyclists, this 8 hour course will be conducted by a certified instructor in two sessions. This basic course is perfect as a primer for those cyclists who wish to gain a better understanding of how to safely operate a bicycle in a variety of situations. The class includes learning how to perform a bicycle safety check, fixing a flat, interactive discussion, on-bike skills practice and student manual. Crash types will be discussed. Crash avoidance techniques will be learned and practiced. Students will gain confidence knowing that they are riding legally and safely. A great class for all skill levels. Recommended for adults and children above 14. $10.00; $8.00 for Camarillo/Somis residents. ($7 materials fee payable to the instructor, includes student manual and printed handouts.) Prepayment required. All students must bring a bicycle and helmet that fit.
